Austrians in the Western United States - look out! A decree of July 11th 2008 by the Federal Government just set the date for the general election to the Nationalrat on September 28th. You have until August 28th 2008 to make sure your name is on the electoral rolls and until September 24rd 2008 to request your mail-in ballots. A recent amendment to the Electoral Code brought some substantive changes aimed at facilitating the casting of ballots outside Austria.

Teachers in Austria have a new multimedia tool for teaching students about the history of the Holocaust: "Das Vermächtnis" ("The Legacy"). Developed by erinnern.at, "The Legacy" is the first educational resource for Austrian teachers that uses testimony from the Shoah Institute's Visual History Archive.
