Time To Enroll and Request Your Mail-In Ballot

Austrians in the Western United States - look out! A decree of July 11th 2008 by the Federal Government just set the date for the general election to the Nationalrat on September 28th. You have until August 28th 2008 to make sure your name is on the electoral rolls and until September 24rd 2008 to request your mail-in ballots. A recent amendment to the Electoral Code brought some substantive changes aimed at facilitating the casting of ballots outside Austria.

Austrian Artist Tanja Tomic and her TAGTOOL

On July 19th, Glow will transform the Santa Monica Pier, Beach and Palisades Park into a mesmerizing, enchanting and thrilling all-night multi-media art experience. Local, national and international artists - including Austrian Artist Tanja Tomic - are creating intense twelve hour experiences specially conceived for this unique setting, where the vastness of the Pacific Ocean reaches our ever-pulsing civilization. Glow is the first all-night event to ever receive permission to use this revered beach location and is unique among such events in that its setting is as much a natural splendor as an urban construct.

Young Austrian Musician Joining I Palpiti

This Year's International Laureates Music Festival will feature a young talent straight from her native Salzburg: Violinist Marie-Stephanie Radauer-Plank. Together with aspiring stars from all over the world, she will be performing at the 11th annual I Palpiti Festival of International Laureates July 15th through 30th 2008 in various locations in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles.

Austrian Holocaust Survivors' Stories Preserved for Students
USC Shoah Foundation Institute Presents "The Legacy"

Teachers in Austria have a new multimedia tool for teaching students about the history of the Holocaust: "Das Vermächtnis" ("The Legacy"). Developed by erinnern.at, "The Legacy" is the first educational resource for Austrian teachers that uses testimony from the Shoah Institute's Visual History Archive.
