Since the "Europhoria" after the successful hosting of the European Soccer Championships in Austria and Switzerland is beginning to wear off, it is time to realize that this Summer has a lot more to offer that soccer. Austrians in the Western United States - look out! A decree of July 11th 2008 by the Federal Government just set the date for the general election to the Nationalrat on September 28th. You have until August 28th 2008 to make sure your name is on the electoral rolls and until September 24rd 2008 to request your mail-in ballots. A recent amendment to the Electoral Code brought some substantive changes aimed at facilitating the casting of ballots outside Austria.
